Below we are highlighting upcoming events, community surveys where you can share you thoughts and input, and opportunities to speak and present.

Upcoming Events:

  • June 13th, 10am-2pm – Neurodiversity Resource Fair – Denver Academy — 4400 E. Iliff Ave., Denver, CO 80222. More info here.
  • Friday, July 24, 2026, 5:30–7:00 PM; Doors open at 5pm, Denver Museum of Nature & Science – Join us for an unforgettable evening at CCDC’s Annual ADA Access Awards: Unsung Heroes where we honor the individuals whose behind-the-scenes work is driving real change in disability justice across Colorado. This year we honor:
    • Radiance in Action Award – Sarah Grazier, Colorado Developmental Disabilities Council’s Executive Director
    • Heart of the Community Award – Jeannie Watts, Ute Mountain Ute Elder Member, Advocate & Translator
    • Accessibility is at the heart of everything CCDC does! A limited number of donated tickets are available for community members facing financial hardship. To request one, please contact Seyanna Hitt at sdhitt@ccdconline.org 

Opportunities to Present or Speak:

  • May 8, 2026 – Friday at 5:00 pm MST. CU Boulder is accepting proposals for the fourth annual College of Arts and Sciences Disability, Access & Innovation Symposium (formerly The Disability Symposium), which will be hosted during the week of September 28. Proposal applications are due Friday, May 8, 2026 at 5:00 pm MST. Selected presenters will be notified on or around Friday, June 5, 2026. The due date is flexible, so please do not let the due date discourage you from submitting a proposal.

    • If you would like to submit your proposal after the due date, please reach out to marysia.lopez@colorado.edu to express interest. 
  • May 15, 2026TASH is accepting presentation proposals for the 2026 TASH Conference, which will be held in Philadelphia December 3-5. We strongly encourage proposals that reflect TASH’s values for the full inclusion of individuals with significant disabilities in all aspects of life. The submission deadline is Friday, May 15, 2026. All proposals will undergo a de-identified peer review; results will be shared at the beginning of July.
  • June 20, 2026AUCD is accepting presentations for the AUCD 2026 Conference, which will be held in Washington DC November 8-12. The focus is on innovation and building strong partnerships to improve services, research, and support for people with disabilities, their families, and the community. The proposal submission deadline is Saturday, June 20, 2026. Notifications of acceptance will be sent in early September.

Community Surveys:

  • Disability Law Colorado is preparing to decide what our focus areas will be for next year. We want to make sure our priorities reflect what community feels is important, so we would appreciate it if you could fill out our focus areas survey– and send it to any people with disabilities, caregivers, and community partners in Colorado that you know! The deadline for responding to the survey is July 31, 2026.  
  • TASH-Colorado is the state chapter of TASH, a national organization dedicated to advancing equity, opportunity, and inclusion for people with disabilities. Currently, our chapter is engaged in developing a five-year strategic plan to guide our priorities, strengthen our impact, and shape the future of our work. Here is a survey link for people to contribute to TASH Colorado’s strategic plan!  
  • The Colorado Department of Human Services is preparing a Community Feedback Survey to help people and families in Colorado by providing support and connecting them with resources needed throughout their lives. CDHS aims to offer effective and new ways to deliver health and human services to empower Coloradans to thrive. The survey is anonymous to gather thoughts and feedback on using CDHS services and programs.
