About Us: The Colorado Developmental Disabilities Council is a Governor-appointed council that works to create the individual, community and systems level conditions that allow people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) the ability to achieve their vision of a meaningful life. Of our 24 members, 15 are people with I/DD, their family members or caregivers and nine are federally required subject matter experts from state agencies and nonprofit organizations.

Mission: To advocate for systems change by promoting meaningful person-centered participation, self-determination and inclusion for all individuals with developmental disabilities.

Vision: People with I/DD experience their own vision of a meaningful life of freedom, choice, love, purpose and joy that are valued for the contributions they bring to our communities.
