March Events

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and the Council is happy to provide a summary of several events happening in our community this month. This is not an exhaustive list but has some key opportunities for training and education on advocacy and community gathering. Please reach out directly to the organization listed for more information or use the links below to register for an event!

March 3, 2026 – IDD Awareness Day. This event is held at the Colorado State Capitol and brings together self-advocates, families, providers, and organizations. This event is hosted by Alliance, The Arc of Colorado, and JFK Partners. To register email info@alliancecolorado.org

March 5, 2026 – Community Listening Sessions with us – the DD Council! This is an interactive virtual event held on Zoom from 9:00-10 AM. Share your thoughts and discuss ideas in the three priority areas of Healthcare, housing, and employment. Registration is required here

March 5, 2026 – Caregiver Conversations hosted by Family Voices. This virtual event is on Zoom and starts at 7:00 PM. Register here.    

March 9, 2026 – Happy Hour Employment Mixer at Brewability in Englewood. This event connects employers with individuals with IDD and is from 4:00-6:00 PM. 

March 10, 2026 – Disability & Parenting hosted by Atlantis Community, Inc. This is an in-person event from 10:30-11:45 AM at Atlantis Community, Inc. (201 S. Cherokee Street, Denver, 80223). RSVP is not required.  

March 13th, 2026Health Care Day of Action (HCDA). HCDA brings together community members, advocates, and partner organizations from across Colorado to uplift community voices and advocate for policies that advance access to affordable, equitable health care. This day is an opportunity to engage directly in advocacy, connect with partners, and collectively show up for health equity at the Capitol. This is an in-person event from 8:00-2:00 PM. March 19, 2026 – Spring Into Awareness: An Evening of Inclusion & Community with Developmental Disabilities Resource Center (DDRC). Event is from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Fairfield Inn & Suites 140 S. Union Boulevard in Lakewood (just south of 6th Avenue). The event is free. RSVP here.   

March 29, 2026 – Festability Passport to Possibilities is hosted by Developmental Pathways. This is a free event held at the Momentum Gym in Parker (18499 Longs Way, #102, Parker, CO 80134) from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM. Register here

March 31, 2026 – AtlantisReady Disaster Preparedness (VIRTUAL Workshop). This is a virtual event held on Zoom from 2:00-3:00 PM. Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89866593459 Email: Curtis@atlantiscommunity.org with questions. 

Honorable Mention for April: April 2, 2026 – Intellectual & Developmental Disability Resource Fair hosted by The Arc of Adams County. The event will be at the Educational Services Center (1500 E. 128th Ave. Thornton, 80241) from 3:00-5:30 PM. RSVP here.
